In 2011 Alex Anwandter was thrust into political activism in his native Chile. His single “Cómo Puedes Vivir Contigo Mismo”—a favorite of Daniel Zamudio, a Chilean teen who was brutally murdered for being gay—became a rallying anthem for the country's equality movement. Anwandter has embraced the mantle of advocate for queer youth in his homeland, even producing a film about Zamudio that was screened at the Berlin Film Festival. But his real strength lies in the catchy synth-pop you'll find on this album, which features guest spots from Argentine electro-poppers Miranda!, and is more suited to the dance floor than a protest rally.
