Berlin-based Brit Benjamin Damage’s offbeat techno uses a gritty palette to make grand gestures. His third album fuses coruscating beats, rising pads, tape hiss, and decaying synths to soundtrack a grainy world all its own. The six-minute “Cosmonaut” undulates out of a relentless pound, while “Transmission” moves seamlessly from a light groove to a cavernous, melancholic pulse.
