DAISY
Album · Pop · 2025
A wildly unrestrained musical adventure that announces itself from the extravagant titles of each track alone, with “sukkKK!!” and “(ecco)” as clear examples. It’s a body of work made up of experiments born from an overactive imagination, where every kind of resource, sound, and influence is combined to create pop gems that average three minutes each. “KINKI FíGARO” opens the album with an orchestral passage before giving way to Jean Dawson’s voice, delivering insistent lines over a playful bed of beats. “BBY ROMEO” blends guitar, electronic percussion, and the sweet vocals of rusowsky and Ralphie Choo. “4 Daisy” is a tender ballad in which the Spanish artist declares his unconditional love, wrapped in music that evokes a lullaby. Meanwhile, “pink + pink,” sung alongside the American artist Ravyn Lenae, reaffirms rusowsky’s compulsion for contrast, constantly reinventing his melodies as they unfold, like a collage in perpetual mutation. And “99%,” the closing track, flirts with soul as a seductive ballad that, like “malibU,” finds its guiding thread in the piano. Throughout DAISY, rusowsky reasserts his passion for collaboration, inviting talents from vastly different stylistic worlds, such as Las Ketchup, Kevin Abstract, and La Zowi; everything fits and nothing feels extraneous. Every song surprises with its own distinct identity and singular character. It is an album that transcends categorization, sidesteps fleeting trends, and finds its greatest strength in a deliberate pursuit of originality.
