Founded in Ahmedabad in 2013, Aswekeepsearching have introduced India to post-rock’s cinematic and evocative grandiosity like few other native acts. Vocalist, guitarist and songwriter Uddipan Sarmah’s reflective Hindi tales always seem to find a new direction—and on kyun? the trio take it a step further by musing on life’s biggest questions. There’s childlike wonder sprawled across opener “why?” before the journey really begins with galloping drums and symphonic guitars on “you left something” and the ever-building tension on “into the mind”.
