Pressure 9X19
9x19, Vol. 1
Album · Urbano latino · 2025
While reggaetón and more pop-oriented forms tend to dominate Latin music charts, several of today’s hitmakers have roots or history with trap music. The raw, streetwise style put a lot of artists on the proverbial map, and the scene continues to generate fresh, promising talent such as rising star Pressure 9X19. The viral success of his “VVS SWITCH” remix, a staggering nine-minute posse cut that included heavy hitters like Anuel AA and Luar La L, set the Puerto Rican rapper on the path to 9x19, Vol. 1, his most substantial project to date. The set contains previously released singles that have become synonymous with his style, like “PHILLY BOY” and “30 EXTENDO,” alongside newer material like “INVOCAR.” Some of his collaborations here, including “BAILEN” with Lunay and “UNA DIABLA” with Justin Quiles, may surprise those who expected him to stay underground for much longer. Yet those who paid attention to cuts like the rather sleek “DUBAI” know he stands ready to level up at any moment.
