Maffio boasts the sort of résumé that most other Latin producers can only dream of. The Dominican artist has worked with a remarkable variety of others, including Akon, Farruko, Gente de Zona, and Luis Figueroa, to name a few. Following 2022’s double-disc outing Eso Es Mental, this similarly collaborative effort sees him furthering a global perspective on club music. With his gaze perpetually and purposefully fixed upon the dance floor, he spends these dozen tracks encouraging passionate movement and luxurious vibes with guests such as KRZ, Guaynaa, and Lenny Tavárez. The Afropop fusion “Como Ça Va?” and the rave redux “Fiesta En La Ciudad” mingle with the amplified perreo “Ritmo del Negro” and the call-and-response house jam “Watermelon.” One minute he’s touting vocal dance-pop bliss with “Love in the Morning”; the next he’s gleefully linking house and merengue on “Que Siga!” Closing cut “Peligrosa” makes for quite the showstopper, bringing international stars Anitta, Shaggy, and Wisin together with gratifying results.
