Hustleman Quise
How I Came In
Album · Hip-Hop/Rap · 2025 · Priority Records / LLC4
Hustleman Quise carves his place within Dallas’ rich rap landscape, a scene that has reentered the spotlight in the years following BigXthaPlug’s breakthrough. Quise, alongside fellow D-Town stars like Montana 700 and Zillionaire Doe, has brought back a sound more indebted to OG icons like gangsta rappers Mr. Pookie and The D.O.C. than the country-leaning aesthetics that have dominated in BigX’s shadow.
How I Came In finds Quise telling his origin story, establishing his street bona fides from the first moments of opening track “How I Came In Intro.” On “Forbes List,” which features Montana 700, the duo take turns celebrating their rap wins over menacing horn melodies and trunk-rattling bass, and on the Zillionaire Doe-assisted “AF1,” Quise succinctly outlines just how far he’s come, recalling his rise from hustler to sensation. “I put work in every hood, but my main spot a loft,” he explains. “I was the biggest middleman, now I made myself a boss.”
