Los Gemelos De Sinaloa
Bendecido
Album · Música Mexicana · 2025 · Desvelada Records
California-born twins Juan Moises and Roberto Cardenas originally made names for themselves with emboldened banda cuts and no-holds-barred corridos as Los Gemelos De Sinaloa. But as their project progresses, softened edges and engaged genre exploits have come into play, resulting in the thematically and musically diverse Bendecido. This eight-song outing leans heavily upon emotionality, with passions rising and falling as they see fit.
The opening cumbia “Te Adoro” signifies their tender shift in dramatic fashion, its lyrics amounting to a devotional paean to a deliriously romantic love. Such heart-on-sleeve loverboy stylings persist via cuts like “Amor Que Duele.” A slow-paced hip-hop rhythm sustains the sentiments of “Heridas,” while “Corazón Vacío” finds the duo indulging and commiserating over an alluring bachata beat. After all the ups and downs conveyed in these songs, there’s a joyful comfort to be found at the end, with the effusively amorous “Contigo Me Veo” serving as a perfect bookend.
