Formed in Havana and based in Paris, Orishas bring a world of styles to their party. Tracks are rapped in French to a heady reggae backdrop ("Distinto"), or sung in Spanish to a festive rhumba groove ("Quien Te Dijo," with an exuberant Pitbull rap). Behind its sunny trumpets and percussion, "Nací Orishas" offers a non-touristy view of Key West. And the title track, with a deep-bass stoner groove, name-checks Jackie Chan in a lyric about truth-telling rappers as action heroes.
