There’s more to London rapper M Huncho than the MF DOOM-inspired face covering that keeps his face a mystery to his adoring fans. On the MC’s 2026 project THE WIZARD, he aims to go deeper, to share more of his story, and to highlight the mindset and philosophy that has made him one of the biggest voices in rap both at home and abroad.
Much like Huncho’s 2025 LP U2OPIA and his 2024 collab album with Potter Payper 36 Hours, THE WIZARD is loosely tied together by a concept, paying homage to The Wizard of Oz. On the second track, “WIZARD OF OZ,” Huncho croons over a skittering and morose beat, using his uncanny knack for melody to convey the trials and tribulations that have shaped him: “How many times have I buried the dead?/Guess this is life, can’t be getting upset.”
On the motivating “WE UP,” Huncho describes how these struggles have shaped him: “I hope that keeping it real don’t turn me insane/I’m built from pain/They changed on me, but loyal I remain.”
