Featuring an almost completely revamped lineup, Bay Area thrash vets Forbidden return with their first album in 16 years. On Forbidden, longtime members Craig Locicero (guitar) and Matt Camacho (bass) team up with vocalist Norman Skinner, guitarist Jeremy Von Epp, and former Machine Head drummer Chris Kontos to rekindle the metal flame first lit when the band started as Forbidden Evil in 1985.
Roaring out of the gate with the ferocious “Single Point Failure,” the band rips and shreds through the Voivod-ian “Burning the Lungs of Earth” and the proggy “Sycophantasy” (featuring a killer vocal cameo from Mastodon’s Brann Dailor) before closing with the moody and complex “Flower of Life.”
