One of Germany's leading wind players, bassoonist Theo Plath is also a prominent educator. He is principal bassoonist of the Frankfurt Radio Symphony. Plath is also in demand as a soloist and chamber music player. He has made several recordings of concertos and chamber music, including Beethoven & Kreutzer: Septets (2025).

Theo Plath has also released music as a member of Monet Quintet.
