About Yves Tumor
Experimental electronic artist Yves Tumor makes soulful, sometimes abrasive music that defies easy categorization.
• Disenchanted by the mundanity of their Tennessee hometown, Tumor spent their teens learning multiple instruments and eventually began recording electronic music.
• Tumor later escaped to Los Angeles, where they began performing as TEAMS. While there, they met rapper Mykki Blanco, who invited them to accompany her on tour in 2012.
• They debuted as Yves Tumor in 2015 with the mostly lyric-free self-released project When Man Fails You.
• Tumor’s 2018 album Safe in the Hands of Love—their first for the famed UK electronic music label Warp Records—was cited by numerous publications as one of the year’s best albums.
• The artist again made various year-end best-of lists with 2020’s Heaven to a Tortured Mind, which cracked the Top 40 of the Scottish Albums chart.
