In the artist’s words:
Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. I think that would be watching a bluegrass band perform inside of a barnes & noble at around 5 years old. I was so enamored that my parents bought a CD for me to take home! I'm sure it's still floating around my parents' house somewhere.
What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Bon Iver, 22, A Million Coldplay, Viva La Vida or Death and All His Friends The Antlers, Familiars Familiars changed the way I approached vocals & guitar playing, 22aM changed the way I approached production & arrangement. Both albums changed the way I thought about lyrics forever. VLV started me down the path that led to both 22aM & Familiars (:
Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song. “Holden” I'm really proud of most parts of this song. The production ties into the overall emotional arc, & the percussion is some of my favorite that I've recorded. Lyrically, it might be the most confessional I've ever written.
What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? Easily either touring (any of the 3 we've done), opening for Hippo Campus a few times in 2017, or our UMS festival set in 2021. All those experiences were seriously pure magic.
Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? More than I can name here! I suppose the inescapable "play Red Rocks as a band" and "tour the world" are some obvious ones (:
