About Boy Harsher
Jae Matthews and Augustus Muller produce a dark, danceable form of electro-pop under the name Boy Harsher. Their songs contain minimal beats and synth textures that frame Matthews' dynamic, sensual vocals and lyrics about desire, fantasy, and loneliness. The duo have been building up a devoted cult following since their 2014 formation, frequently selling out concerts and pressings of their records. "Pain," a song that originally appeared on their debut EP, emerged as an underground hit, and the pair continued releasing hook-filled and beat-heavy recordings like 2019's Careful. Boy Harsher wrote, produced, and scored a short film titled The Runner, which appeared in 2022. The duo issued their major-label debut, Get Mean, in 2026.
