About Arthur Hnatek
In the artist’s words:
Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail.
I was born in Geneva, where my parents owned a music store and repaired instruments. I was surrounded by instruments and musicians from the very beginning, so music always felt like a natural part of everyday life.
What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular?
Aphex Twin, Syro
Dawn of Midi, Dysnomia
Floating Points, Crush
These albums have a lot in common, yet approach music from very different directions. I love how they blur the lines between acoustic instruments, electronics, rhythm and sound. Each has shaped the way I listen to and create music.

“Undertow”
“Undertow” feels like a good representation of where my music is now. It began as an improvised drum performance with no plan beyond playing, then gradually transformed through processing and editing while keeping the mood of the original performance
