DJ and producer REZZ is a Canadian maestro of midtempo electronic music who’s won two Juno Awards for Best Electronic Album.
• Born Isabelle Rezazadeh in Ukraine, REZZ moved to Canada at a young age. She excelled at sports before trying her hand at making electronic music at 18.
• She released her first EP, Insurrection, in 2015 on NEST, a sub-label of Skrillex’s OWSLA allotted for more niche creations.
• REZZ released some of her most lauded bodies of work on deadmau5’s mau5trap imprint, including a pair of albums, Mass Manipulation (2017) and Certain Kind of Magic (2018). The former earned her a Juno Award for Electronic Album of the Year.
• In 2020, she won another Juno for Electronic Album of the Year, this time for her 2019 EP Beyond the Senses.
• She appears in the 2021 documentary Underplayed, which sheds light on the gender disparity in the dance music industry.
