About Holland Baroque
Holland Baroque is an early music ensemble at its core, but one known for imaginative cross-genre projects. Founded in 2005 in the Netherlands, the ensemble was built around the belief that early music could intersect with many other musical worlds. Setting out firmly on that path, it has taken on projects like Love is Crazy, a collaboration with cabaret artist Sven Ratzke, and Silk Baroque, which incorporated the Chinese sheng virtuoso Wu Wei. The ensemble's lengthy recording history started with a 2008 release of Georg Muffat's instrumental music with conductor Matthew Halls. Later highlights include Telemann: Polonoise (2021), Brabant 1653 (2021), and Bachs Königin (2023), an album of J.S. Bach's organ works transcribed for the ensemble. Dialogos: Francis of Assisi Meets Malik Al-Kamil (2026) explores the nature of interfaith dialogue in collaboration with the ensemble Constantinople.
