In the artist’s words: Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail.
I remember my dad teaching me the guitar solo to "Louie Louie" by The Kingsmen, and feeling like I had just been given the key to the universe. I was around 8 years old at the time, and ever since then, all I've wanted is a career in music. What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular?
Grateful Dead, Europe '72 (Live) Remastered
J.J. Cale, Naturally
Merle Haggard & The Strangers, Same Train, A Different Time: Merle Haggard Sings the Great Songs of Jimmie Rodgers
JJ Cale crafted such a sound of his own, one that I find listenable no matter what mood I find myself in. If someone was to ask, what is country music? I would point to that album by Merle. The Dead to me reminds us to have fun playing music we love. Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song.
“Growing Up”
Co-written with my friend Dan Dyer, "Growing Up" is a fun mix of influences. Not sure where it belongs with elements of jam band but also country, makes this one hard to pin down but that's what I love about it most.
