About Twin Talk
Chicago-based jazz trio Twin Talk create freely improvised music which is warm, accessible, and open. Bassist/vocalist Katie Ernst, drummer Andrew Green, and saxophonist Dustin Laurenzi exhibit an uncanny chemistry when playing together, and they appropriately named their group Twin Talk in reference to the phenomenon of cryptophasia, a personal language shared by twins. Their approaches to recording and performing are equally spontaneous, with concerts frequently veering from the setlist of composed material. Their music is knotty and sophisticated yet fluid and natural-sounding, highlighted by Ernst's heartfelt vocals. Following 2016's Twin Talk, the trio released the adventurous full-length Weaver in 2019. Twin Talk Live, a semi-improvised studio recording, appeared in 2024.
