About Ezra Collective
With a groove-laden, genre-bending sound of British jazz-funk, Ezra Collective are one of the more ubiquitous groups on the dynamic London jazz scene given their frenetic live gigs. It was the wide release of the 2019 debut album You Can't Steal My Joy that won an international following. In November 2022, the group released sophomore full-length, Where I'm Meant to Be, with a handful of rappers as collaborators. The album took home the 2023 Mercury Prize for best U.K. album. It was the first time the award had been presented for a jazz recording. They followed it with 2024's Dance, No One's Watching. They returned in 2026 with Here Because of Hope, a journey through jazz, geography, and time, offered in three movements following the historical evolution of Black music across the diaspora.
