Artist Biography
The self-described "relationship-oriented punk" of Salt Lake City's Housewarming Party sits between the ramshackle folk-punk of Radiator Hospital and the emotional indie pop of Remember Sports, as heard on their 2019 debut long-player Baby Teeth.
Formed in 2016 when friends Ridge Anderson (vocals, guitar) and Scottie Cragun (bass, vocals) advertised for a drummer, their call was answered by Jordan Breen. Wasting no time, the three-piece set about recording their debut EP Between Two Mountains, with the slightly ramshackle sound recalling the likes of early Joyce Manor and Nana Grizol. A few months later, the band self-released the EP Get Fast Food and Stay Inside, while also embarking on national tour dates. 2017 saw the release of the digital-only Something Less Than Friends, while the band continued to play live, supporting the likes of Remember Sports and Slaughter Beach, Dog. By mid-2019, Housewarming Party had recorded their debut album at Salt Lake City's Archive Recordings with Wes Johnson. The self-released long-player Baby Teeth was issued in October, and saw the group refine and polish their sound. ~ Rich Wilson
