Artist Biography
DJs/producers Steve Naghavi and Chris Ruiz formed synth pop outfit And One in Berlin in 1989. Signing to Machinery, they issued their 1990 debut single, "Metal Hammer," followed by the full-length Anguish, also featuring new bandmember Alex Two. Ruiz then departed, and with new drummer Joke Jay on board, And One issued Spot in 1993. Alex Two then left the trio, and with replacement keyboardist Rick Schah, And One recorded 1994's I.S.T., their most ambitious and challenging project yet. Subsequently signing with Virgin, And One issued 1997's Nordhausen and 1998's 9.9.99. 9 Uhr. Joke Jay left after the release of Virgin Superstar, and in 2001 Ruiz returned, appearing on the MP3-exclusive single "Amerika Brennt." A new full-length, Aggressor, arrived in 2003, followed by 2006's Bodypop. ~ Jason Ankeny
