About NEEDTOBREATHE
Artist Biography
Earnest indie-folk rockers NEEDTOBREATHE are one of the biggest crossover Christian bands of the 21st century. Not only did the South Carolina group open for Taylor Swift in 2011, but they also earned a platinum single in 2015 with the gospel-influenced Gavin DeGraw collaboration “Brother.” Vocalist Bear Rinehart formed NEEDTOBREATHE with his brother Bo in 2001. The group released music independently before signing with a major label and debuting in 2006 with Daylight. NEEDTOBREATHE’s profile was buoyed by 2007’s easygoing Americana hit “Washed By the Water” and chart-topping albums such as 2014’s Rivers In the Wasteland, as well as an opening touring slot with Faith Hill and Tim McGraw in 2017. Bo Rinehart left the band in 2020, but NEEDTOBREATHE rebounded, earning a mainstream alternative-radio hit later that year with “Who Am I” and collaborating with Carrie Underwood and Natalie Hemby in 2021 on Into The Mystery.
