About The Teskey Brothers
Artist Biography
Australian siblings Josh and Sam Teskey grew up in the Melbourne suburb of Warrandyte, with Josh singing lead vocals and Sam playing lead guitar—first as buskers and then as a proper act with bassist Brendon Love and drummer Liam Gough. The quartet’s grassroots fanbase saw them sell out bigger and bigger venues by the mid-2010s, earning keen interest from international labels ahead on their 2017 debut LP Half Mile Harvest. Recorded on vintage equipment at their home studio, that breakout album encouraged the band to cut Run Home Slow in the same cozy setting, albeit with English producer Paul Butler and burnished brass and string arrangements. The sessions took the Teskeys’ rustic harmonizing and vintage snap to the next level and earned them three ARIA Music Awards. Following a pair of live albums released during lockdown, Love and Gough departed and the titular brothers continued on as a duo. That paring back only made 2023’s The Winding Way feel more intimate still, even when well-deployed backing singers swell up from beneath.
