About Little Quirks
Years spent busking as children taught Little Quirks how to command a crowd. It helps that the group from New South Wales’ Central Coast is a close-knit family affair, comprising sisters Abbey and Mia Toole and their cousin Jaymi Toole, while Jaymi’s brother Alex has since joined as touring bassist, alongside lead guitarist Jordan Rouse.
Formed in 2015 during a global upswing in indie folk, the band developed their sound across a series of EPs while working their way through folk festivals. Their skeletal sound and breezy harmonizing prompted early comparisons to First Aid Kit, while their lyrics often evoke bucolic nature imagery like birds, rain, butterflies, and ivy. After signing to ABC Music, Little Quirks released their self-titled debut album in 2024, showcasing a fuller sound that combined ’90s rock influences with folky signifiers.
