About Prima Queen
London-based indie pop duo Prima Queen use infectious hooks and catchy melodies to soundtrack their coming-of-age, diving into themes of friendship, relationships, and identity.
At its core is the friendship between Louise MacPhail and Kristin McFadden, hailing from the U.K. and the U.S. respectively; they drew inspiration from both countries when writing songs together, including on their debut album, 2025's The Prize.
They met in 2016 when they both took part in a songwriting course. They began writing together almost immediately, culminating in their eponymous debut EP in 2020. A second EP followed in 2023, titled Not the Baby, which effectively propelled the band into the U.K. festival circuit and gained them frequent radio coverage. After a decade of honing their craft, their debut album, 2025's The Prize, surfaced. The album featured tracks written throughout the ten years of their career, drawing from experiences throughout their young adulthood.
