The project of Austin-based musician Alex Peterson, alexalone debuted in 2016 with We Can Be Alone Together, a textured mix of sprawling shoegaze and lo-fi indie rock. Known for their involvement as a touring member of Hovvdy and Lomelda, Peterson later signed with the Polyvinyl label and expanded alexalone into a full band for the 2021 full-length Alexaloneworld. 2023's intense Alexalone Technical Research continued with the group approach and consisted of several lengthy tracks.
