About Fuma
In the artist’s words:
Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. I grew up surrounded by music. My mother and grandmother were serious lovers of Kadongo Kamu — that’s Uganda’s roots music. They put me on early, and I never really left it. I just found my own way to carry it forward.
What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Davido, Timeless Nicki Minaj, Queen Ruger, PANDEMIC - EP They proved that African music can be global without losing its soul, The boldness and melody can hit just as hard as any formula, Reminded me that as an artist, you can be everything — hard, soft, lyrical, melodic — and still own your throne.
Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song. “Déjà Vu” Déjà Vu" is my first statement to the world. It's Afro-fusion, it's English and Luganda, and it's built to make you move. Watching it reach over 4,200 streams and 167 Shazams with no label. It's not just a song; it's proof that I'm on the right path.
What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? The day "Déjà Vu" hit 1,000 streams. No label. No playlist. Just real listeners choosing to replay my music. That's when I knew: this is real. And I kept moving.
Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? Everything. I'm just getting started. I will build a music career that outlives me and not just hits, but a catalog. Something my kids and grandkids can listen to and say, "That was Fuma. He built that."
