Artist Biography
Los Angeles' Silent Rival are known for their exuberant, high-energy brand of dance-oriented rock. Drawing upon a mix of classic rock, '90s indie pop, glam, and electronic influences, the group first garnered attention with their 2017 debut, The Kindness of Strangers.
Formed in 2017, Silent Rival showcases the talents of Orange Country-bred singer Sara Coda and Mexico-born guitarist Joz Ramirez. The duo had performed together in another band before coalescing as a unit. Together, they began working up their originals, drawing upon artists like Aerosmith, Gladys Knight, U2, and Led Zeppelin, as well as sundry other glam and pop touchstones. In 2017, they released their debut album, The Kindness of Strangers, featuring production by Matt Wallace (Maroon 5, Andy Grammer, Faith No More). Following a tour with Night Riots, they returned in 2020 with their sophomore long-player, Elevator. ~ Matt Collar
