About Catie Turner
Former American Idol contestant Catie Turner broke through in 2019 with the melancholic single “Prom Queen.”
• Turner grew up in Langhorne, Pennsylvania, a Philadelphia suburb. She began singing and playing guitar as a teenager, influenced by The Beatles, Joni Mitchell, and Ed Sheeran.
• At 18, Turner appeared on Season 16 of American Idol. She auditioned with a powerful original song called “21st Century Machine” and wound up finishing in sixth place.
• Her 2019 single “Prom Queen,” about feeling alienated in high school, became a streaming hit.
• In 2020, Turner signed to Atlantic Records and released a series of singles including 2020’s dreamy “One Day” and 2021’s “Play God.”
