About This Is Lorelei
The solo project of Water from Your Eyes' Nate Amos, This Is Lorelei showcases his gift for writing heartfelt yet slightly skewed songs. At first, This Is Lorelei focused on eclectic, spontaneous experiments, but as Amos' dozens of releases spanned electronic pop, bedroom folk, industrial music, and lo-fi indie rock, his knack for wryly catchy tunes surfaced. The more considered songcraft on works like 2019's Move Around EP led to 2024's Box for Buddy, Box for Star, This Is Lorelei's first release on a proper label. The album's endearing indie rock, electro-pop, and Americana quickly won critical acclaim and tributes in the form of covers by MJ Lenderman and Waxahatchee (these covers and others appeared on 2025 and 2026 deluxe editions of the album). With the re-recorded versions of older material on 2025's Holo Boy, Amos bolstered his reputation as one of indie's most promising and distinctive voices.
