About Acute Inflections
In the artist’s words:
Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. I was a kid singing a solo in church. When the song ended, the whole congregation rose to their feet in applause. That felt like a calling, and I knew right then I wanted to spend my life making people feel something with my voice.
What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? D'Angelo, Brown Sugar Erykah Badu, Baduizm Miles Davis, Kind of Blue Erykah taught me that you can be ethereal and grounded in the same breath. Miles Davis made silence speak. D'Angelo taught me that intimacy can be heavier than volume, and that a vocal can move people without ever having to shout.
Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song. “Electric Psychology” The first song Sadiki and I ever wrote together. It captures the rush of meeting, the chemistry we were just starting to explore, and the moment we realized what our sound could be. I still hear us figuring out what we were going to build together.
What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? In the audition room for The Great Soul Food Cook-Off, they asked for a jazz standard. Sadiki and I freestyled an original song about food instead. That freestyle became the featured song for the show and opened an episode!
Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? Beyond music, we want to write short stories. We want to build a YouTube channel that shows fans the real work and life, not just polished moments. And eventually, mentor other independent artists, becoming the influence we wish we'd had.
