About Dirty Mae
Artist Biography
In the artist’s words:
Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. Our first ever gig was on Valentine's Day 2016 at a secret warehouse deep in Brooklyn. It was a stop-the-pipeline protest concert, and we played under the name “Full Moon Party.” FACT: We didn’t discover our “true identity” of “Dirty Mae” til 2018.
Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song. “Brown Water” This is one of our favorite songs that we co-wrote & arranged together. It came from a passionate discussion about the Water Crisis in Flint, Michigan & what we could do from NY. So we wrote this song. This version has a super jazzy intro & outro 😎
What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? Being hand picked by Adam Duritz (the multi platinum artist & lead singer of The Counting Crows) for his personal NYC music festival, which took place IN HIS LOFT. He walked out of his bedroom to see who was playing “White Rabbit.” He loved it 🥰
Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? Yes! A west coast tour, a European tour and playing Jazz Fest New Orleans!
