In the artist’s words: Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail.
My dad used to play My Chemical Romance and Modest Mouse while driving me to middle school, which in retrospect was wildly irresponsible. We need to keep that kind of music out of reach of impressionable kids or they'll end up like me. What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular?
The Used, In Love and Death
frnkiero and the cellabration, Stomachaches
twenty one pilots, Vessel
I totally respect Twenty One Pilots' DIY midwest roots, which I feel they don't get enough credit for. In Love and Death by the Used is quintessential emo goodness. Stomachaches by Frank Iero deeply affected my musical sensitibilities. It's great. Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song.
“Dentonweaver”
This song is easily my favorite on the album, with tons of peaks and valleys. It works essentially like a bootcamp for the album it's apart of. I'm also convinced I'll never write a riff as good as the one that comes before each verse. What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far?
We once played a super packed garage show where 40 people were crammed into this tiny room, all singing our lyrics back to us louder than the speakers. I could barely hear myself. That experience was mind boggling, cathartic, and super humbling. Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band?
I can't help but write music that's deeply conceptual and rich with lore. I am unable to just like... write songs ya know? There's gotta be an overarching story, a world, lore, intertwining themes, etc. I want to explore these worlds a bit more!
