Artist Biography
The early releases of English post-rock band Disco Inferno, compiled on In Debt, bore the heavy influence of Joy Division, Wire, and other post-punk bands. After becoming infatuated with sonically challenging groups like My Bloody Valentine and the Young Gods, as well as the Bomb Squad's revolutionary production on Public Enemy's records, Disco Inferno issued some of the most uncompromising and experimental music of the '90s, beginning with the Summer's Last Sound EP (1992) and culminating in D.I. Go Pop (1994). The band had its five EPs, released from 1992 through 1994, anthologized by One Little Indian in 2010. ~ Andy Kellman
