In the artist’s words: Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail.
Music has just permeated my entire upbringing. My parents always had music playing. If it was up to my mum we would listen to Eurythmics or The Stranglers and my dad would choose old blues records or Jimi Hendrix. What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular?
Amy Winehouse, Back to Black
David Bowie, Hunky Dory (2015 Remaster)
LCD Soundsystem, LCD Soundsystem
I love how insightful and poignant LCD Soundsystem are, along with the groove, clash of genres and the fun. Back to Black is something I have always returned to, and found something new in. Hunky Dory has very personal memories of my Uncle Terry. Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song.
“Big Hit Single”
It's really stupid. So incredible stupid. THe silliest song to ever be written. What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far?
Playing a show in a small Italian city called Bari. The stage constructed in the car park of a theater, and an hour before the hour a storm began to blow directly through us. Three hundred people came out to see a band they had never heard of.
Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band?
Make a living wage doing music. I don't know if people realise that the majority of bands our size, and often bigger than us, still have day jobs. It's incredibly tough and exhausting to make that balance work. Headlining Glastonbury would be nice.
