In the artist’s words: Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail.
I remember listening to my brother practicing upright bass in his bedroom when I was growing up. I was in elementary school and I had this idea that everyone had musicians in their homes. Now I know that my home was pretty special. What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular?
Fiona Apple, The Idler Wheel Is Wiser than the Driver of the Screw and Whipping Cords Will Serve You More than Ropes Will Ever Do (Expanded Edition)
Mon Laferte, Norma
Regina Spektor, Begin to Hope (Bonus Track Version)
Begin to Hope was on repeat when I was 15. I wanted so badly to be a songwriter! In The Idler's wheel, the percussion is insane and the lyrics are so good. Norma is just a sexy, sexy record.
I love singing Funeral and have my own cover of it. Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song.
“Corazón”
This might be the best song I've ever written. This is my favorite lyric: Yo estoy aquí lista para confesar todo lo que no he podido hablar/ I'm here ready to confess all that I have been unable to say. What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far?
I opened for Deb Talan at Le Poisson Rouge in 2023, which was really awesome. I've always wanted to play at LPR.
