About Shantaia
In the artist’s words:
Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail.
Singing on national television at 5 years old, I remember the excitement leading up to it and the white fringe cowgirl outfit I was wearing that my Aunt made for me. I sang 3 Wooden Crosses by Randy Travis, and my cousin Riley played guitar for me!
What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular?
Fleetwood Mac, Rumours Super Deluxe Edition
Maren Morris, Hero (Deluxe Edition)
Olivia Dean, The Art of Loving
Rumours- The vintage sound makes me wish I were alive in the 70s
Hero- I love her blend of Country and R&B sounds
The Art of Loving- One I haven’t gotten sick of one bit in the last year that it’s been out. I’m 100% sure I’ll never get sick of it
Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song.
“Why On Earth”
Why on Earth- it's special because I wrote it for my husband as our first dance song and surprised him with it the moment we stepped onto the dance floor. It will always hold a very special place in my heart!
What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far?
Opening PRS Guitars’ 40th anniversary party at House of Blues Anaheim was surreal. Getting to share a bill with so many incredible artists, including John Mayer, was a true bucket-list moment.
Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band?
To play a show or tour with Chris Stapleton. He’s one of my all-time favorite artists and such an incredible songwriter and musician. Getting to share a stage with him would be absolutely insane.
