Artist Biography
In the artist’s words:
Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. My grandmother gave me my uncle’s harmonica when I was young. Nobody else in my family had any musical experience. He was a drifter, so I never saw him very much.
What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Lucinda Williams, Car Wheels On a Gravel Road Magnolia Electric Co., Sojourner (Parts 1 & 2) The Cure, The Head On the Door Remastered Jason Molina’s music has a great influence on the way I write these days — his imagery and mood are unmatched. The Cure seamlessly inject darker tones and themes into beautiful pop music like no other. Lucinda is the queen of alt-country.
Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song. “Queen of Diamonds” For most of my life I have felt invisible or unworthy in a lot of ways. This song is a playful embodiment of that. I am especially proud of the performance. The tremolo guitar blends smoothly with the bass and drums. Lee Carroll on organ is perfect.
What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? Sharing the stage with some buds who are gaining well-deserved success like John R. Miller and Sarah Shook & The Disarmers is always memorable.
