About Jejune
Jejune are one of the more quietly influential bands to rise from emo's second wave in the mid-'90s, with a sound that tempers the fury of hardcore with considered dynamics a distinctive balance of tension and release. They were first active between 1996 and 2000, and in that time they toured with contemporaries like Braid and Piebald and released several albums -- their punky debut Junk in 1997, 1998's more emo-leaning This Afternoon's Malady, and R.I.P., which was released several months after their breakup in 2000. New waves of interest in subsequent years led to Jejune reuniting in 2026 and emo reissue champions Numero Group releasing the massive retrospective collection Wait a Lifetime that same year.
