Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. I'd always be listening to the radio as a kid. I was a bit of an insomniac so when everyone was asleep I’d just sit up listening to Hot 103 and just figure out what I like sonically. I'd call into the radio station to request my favourite songs.
What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Gorillaz, Demon Days HOMESHAKE, Midnight Snack Neon Indian, VEGA INTL. Night School These albums bring me back to a joyful place. I was making my own music for the first time, I was learning so many new things and meeting new people. It was an exciting time and these albums were kinda always on repeat as the soundtrack to that era
Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song. “Moon Cats (feat. Housepanther)” This song is very special cause it came from a dream. I woke up hearing the main melody & immediately started to write the song. I had so many ideas. I was excited and inspired. This song represents taking a leap of faith & chasing your dreams.
What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? The summer of '22 when my album Slingshot came out I played all the big local festivals. It felt like a huge victory lap, feeling so seen & celebrated in my hometown. I saw my vinyl in the old music store I used to work at & that was a real moment.
Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? Play Glastonbury & Reading/Leeds - I watched so many performances on YT as a kid, that would be a holy shit I made it moment. Perform NPR Tiny Desk & KEXP. Shake hands or fist bump with Tyler The Creator, not just as a fan but as a peer.
