Artist Biography
Spanish rap-metal act Def Con Dos began playing covers of Public Enemy and Beastie Boys under the name Freddy Krueger y los Masters del Universo. A chance to leave the underground came when they opened for Run-D.M.C. during the American rap band's tour of Spain. Various lineup changes ensued as the group toured and released several albums during the '90s, including 1994's Armas Pal Pueblo, 1995's Alzheimer, and 1996's Ultramemia. They also recorded the main title for Alex de la Iglesia's movie El Día de la Bestia. In 1998 Def Con Dos joined the Warped Tour in the U.S., playing alongside Bad Religion, Deftones, and Rancid, among others. After the De Poca Madre album arrived that same year, the greatest-hits compilation Dogmatofobia was released in 1999. ~ Drago Bonacich
