About Daniel Kitson
In the artist’s words:
Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail.
I remember my sister trying to give me piano lessons as a kid which didn't last very long because I wasn't a very good student!
What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular?
D.D Dumbo, Utopia Defeated
Sting, Ten Summoner's Tales
Thundercat, Drunk
The textures and grooves through Utopia Defeated are gripping to me! Thundercat's Drunk also has great grooves along with virtuosic bass playing while Ten Summoner's Tales explores odd time signatures in pop music which is really cool.
Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song.
“Shutter Issue”
This one was really fun to make. I emulated disco vibes with the violin parts in the last chorus and I'm pretty proud of the mixture of genres that came through in this track. The name comes from a film camera of mine not working properly!
