Artist Biography
Guitarist James Burton is best known as a member of Elvis Presley's band in the King's latter years, but besides playing with Elvis from 1969-'77, he had a long, distinguished career. He was a successful session player while still in his teens, working with the Louisiana Hayride radio show and playing the famous guitar riff on Dale Hawkins's "Suzy Q." He was a longtime member of Rick Nelson's band from the late '50s to mid-'60s, and in later years played with everyone from Gram Parsons to Elvis Costello.
