About Nite Hike
Artist Biography
In the artist’s words:
Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. My father was big-band trombonist. When I was a toddler he would lay me on my back, play a long note descending, and boop my nose with the slide of his horn. I couldn't get enough.
What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Electric Light Orchestra, Eldorado St. Vincent, Actor Bonus Track Version Tame Impala, Currents These artists reflect the juxtoposition between future and retro sounds that Nite Hike aspires to.
Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song. “Nearest, Safest Star” "Nearest, Safest Star" has all of the qualities of a song I would want to listen to on a nite hike. It has a disco-esque groove with a melodic bass line topped with layered harmony speaking to an outer-space dream-like escape. Far out!
What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? Howlin' Maggie playing to 20,000 people in my home state of Ohio at the Columbus Comfest.
Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? I would like to be interviewed by Terry Gross on Fresh Air.
