About Laurent Coq
In the artist’s words:
Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail.
When I heard Herbie Hancock playing with the Miles Davis Quintet. Every note, every chord he played was a total mystery to my teenager ears and yet it sounded so beautiful, inventive and graceful. Made me want to be a jazz piano player.

“The Battle of Brandywine”
I chose that track for the musicians (all are contemporary jazz masters), the form of the song, the live energy, the comping, the four solos, all top-notch.
