About The Blessed Madonna
The Blessed Madonna is the divine alias of Marea Stamper, the Kentucky-born, London-based DJ, producer, and label owner revered for her rapturous fusions of techno, disco, and electro. Stamper found community selling party gear and mixtapes at local raves as a teenager, and later cutting her teeth as a radio DJ at the University of Louisville. She relocated to Chicago, where she became resident DJ at the nightlife haven Smartbar and spearheaded the city’s Daphne Festival, which put a much-needed spotlight on women and non-binary DJs. Stamper's first original release in 2012, “Alright This Morning,” melded disco and Chicago house, laying the foundation for her acclaimed 2016 breakthrough, “He Is the Voice I Hear.” She moved to London following a sold-out 13-week run at XOYO nightclub in 2017, launched her record label We Still Believe in 2018, and was later tapped to helm Dua Lipa's 2020 LP Club Future Nostalgia, where she worked with the likes of Missy Elliott, Jamiroquai, and the other Madonna.
