About bar italia
Led by three singer/songwriters who unite their distinct voices and viewpoints in their woozy, moody indie rock, bar italia's music ebbs and flows between post-punk, folk, and shoegaze. Early on, the trio was affiliated with Dean Blunt's World Music, and releases such as 2020's Quarrel and 2021's Bedhead were of a piece with the label's sludgy, hallucinatory experiments. On 2023's full-lengths Tracey Denim and The Twits, bar italia took a slightly more polished approach that didn't sacrifice any of their volatile yet hypnotic spirit. By the time of 2025's Some Like It Hot, Nina Cristante, Jezmi Tarik Fehmi, and Sam Fenton balanced the blown-out noise and conversational, collaborative intimacy of their music with ease.
