British singer/songwriter, producer, and composer Mike Batt has a legacy of successful productions that cross from film and television to musical theater and pop music. He first found fame with the Wombles, writing and producing a run of hit singles, before building a prolific career working with artists including Art Garfunkel, David Essex, and Steeleye Span, and contributing to large-scale projects featuring George Harrison and Roger Daltrey. Batt also sustained a solo career with albums like Schizophonia, Tarot Suite, and Arabesque while expanding into orchestral and theatrical work. As a producer and mentor, he helped launch Katie Melua's career on his Dramatico label and developed acts such as Bond and the Planets.
